When using a Barcode scanner, to input information into CReME™, the scanner requires configuration so the data entry is smooth and reliable. This document describes the configuration of the following types of barcode scanners:
Zebra DS2208 used to scan the barcode sheets of units (vehicles) for input to delivery notes (section A)
Newland HR32 used in digiTally (section B)
A1) Zebra DS2208
The following steps have been tested to work on Zebra scanner model DS2208.
Reset the barcode scanner to factory default settings
Add an "Escape" key press before the barcode
Add an "Enter" key press after the barcode
Add a delay between each character
1) Scan the barcode below to reset the barcode scanner to factory default settings.
A2) Use Zebra 123Scan software
This software will add an "Escape" keypress as a prefix (before the barcode) and an "Enter" keypress as a suffix (after the barcode).
Ensure the barcode scanner is connected to the computer.
Launch the 123Scan software.
Click on "Load Existing Configuration File".
Select the configuration file that you downloaded.
Click "Load to Scanner".
The scanner lights will blink for a while.
After the scanner lights return to normal, proceed to section C.
A3) Add a delay between each character
When scanning the barcode, some characters may be missing because the data input is too fast. This can be overcome by slowing down the tranmission of data from the scanner to the computer.
Scan the barcode below to add a delay.
